Happy Ashworth stays in the same post. I think he'll be helpful in the current situation.

Hope Thornberry gets a decent position. Not being announced yet.

The beginning of next year will tell all.

I think Corbyn is hoping to get a 'good job' on the front bench.

    He probably is.

Don't think our Keir is one of his biggest fans though. Might get a minor role for services rendered, then slide him quietly to the back benches. Then again, they drop kicked Miliband right to the back and he only lost one election.

I liked Jezza (though not with the same dark passion as your good self), but out with the old and all that.

What did you like about Corbyn?
I cannot think of anything I liked about him other than he was kind to plants.

He was a great speaker at rallies. I saw him several times. This never translated to TV, as far as I could see. I liked his 'radical' manifestos, although breaking them down, they weren't that radical. Not exactly Marxist. I liked a lot of his policies, though not all of them. His belief in nationalising certain industries (rail, water are two we don't have a choice in anyway). Higher corporation tax, as ours is very low compared to most major countries.

I admired the way he attracted many more members to the party, but I didn't like the influence of Momentum. They are pretty much consigned to a backwater now, looking at the recent election results. I suppose for many, he was a breath of fresh air after decades of centrism. He believed in what he was saying. It wasn't just lip service to get into power.

I liked the fact that he came across as genuine. A complete opposite to the Tories. Although having said that, I didn't appreciate at the time how many one-nation old school Tories there were until the party fell under the thrall of the ERG who basically strong-armed them out of there. I did say I'd miss Theresa one day.

On the other hand, there was a lot I didn't like. Momentum I've already mentioned. The whole issue of antisemitism should have been stamped out as soon as it started. The 4 'M's' and their influence. If you don't know them, a quick Google will reveal all. Not very interesting, to be fair. The swing too far to the left. For me, anyway.

He had far too much baggage that he didn't address. That made it fairly easy for the press to absolutely crucify him. He totally sat on the fence with Brexit. I understand the whole 'have a second referendum, then we'll negotiate terms'. That would have been fine had he actually had a position in the first place. And I think he started to believe the Messiah bit as much as his most devout followers.

That about covers it. Sorry for the long post. Looking forward to a new chapter now.

I don't know of anyone in Westminster who could actually be classed as genuine. Corbyn hid his intentions whereas Johnson is well out front with his.

I like how Corbyn hung in there, like a piece of cotton from your boxer shorts that is right up there. I'm glad he's finally gone.

Starmer has 3 1/2 years to square up with Boris. I'll decide on the day who get's my vote. May the best man win.

Corbyn was so false and deceitful it is little wonder the electorate ran from him.

He was/is a two faced nasty piece of work who slid around on his own slime trail.

His approval ratings reflected my opinion.

Despite the train of thought that I think the sun shines out of Boris's backside I see him as a very flawed individual with a private life out of a comic.

He does though have the political X factor that mysterious and hard to fathom winner gene.

Johnson has to survive Covid first! Taken to hospital last night as symptoms not shifting and now Raab is calling the shots.

I said the other day that both Boris & Charles were still looking very rough & frail. Can you imagine if neither made it through, our PM & our future king? Govt would be in a shambles and the monarchy would skip a generation. Those indeed would be unprecedented times.

The situation with Covid was not on my mind in relation to Johnson's longevity, no time for the guy as a politician, but wouldn't wish illness or worse on him.

As far as the relative positions of both Johnson and Charles, both can be replaced, but not due to this damn virus please.

As sad as that would be, in the current circumstances they'd have to just get on with it. Unprecedented times, I agree.

If any of the royals went, I don't think we'd know anything about it until the lockdown was lifted. Unless someone whispered to the press. They aren't essential to the day to day running of the country in this emergency. And unlike the rest of us, they'd be given a very public funeral. That would have to wait, so they'd put the unfortunate person on ice until the right time.

If Johnson went, I imagine there's a protocol in place already. From the PM downwards, there's probably a 'designate survivor' set of scenarios. Not a pleasant thought, but they'll have it covered.

The strange thing about the Labour Leader contest is the lack of McCluskey's face on television at every opportunity. I hope this love in with the Liverpool Left is well and truly over the old joke about Irish navvies landing in Liverpool taking a look round then trying to dig their way back resulting in the first Mersey Tunnel is quite apt. They are political dinosaurs there is no way a really Left wing Labour is ever going to get in power again. Blair got in for 3 terms on a middle of the road agenda then after Brown had brought them back down to reality the Unions did it again the wrong Milliband followed by that complete throwback Corbyn.
I have worked all my life and have paid my way and never ever considered voting Tory but the last election blew Party Politics out of the water when so many of OUR elected MP's completely disregarded the will of the people. If they are not prepared to take notice of the electorate they have no right being in the position they are in. Corbyn dodged every question on what he wanted should he get in power that irrelevant LibDem leader, who's name I have long since forgotten, got the outcome she deserved and the whole political scene shifted in a way never seen before.

I don't think we'll see anything but a Tory government for decades.

Replacements are already in place, Rabb has the poisoned chalice and there is a long line to replace Charles who I thought looked very unwell when he popped up out of his surprisingly short isolation.
